On December 7 in St. Prkich church a commemoration ceremony dedicated to the victims of Spitak earthquake of 1988 took place.

As the press office of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports, the general consul of Armenia to Batumi Aram Grigoryan, the religious leader of Ajaria Armenians Ararat Gambalyan and Batumi Armenians talked about the immense assistance the world and brotherly Georgia showed to Armenians in the devastating calamity Armenia faced 24 years ago. Afterwards all of them laid flowers to the cross-stone on the memories of the victims.

Georgian rescuers and builders who were present at Spitak 24 years ago were present too.
