U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern wished Armenians a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. In his address in Armenian language, the Ambassador passed the best wishes on behalf of the American people.

“I and my wife Libby enjoyed our first year in Armenia. We appreciate the warm hospitality of the Armenian people and admire the natural beauty and rich history of Armenia. In 2012, Armenia and the United States celebrated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and partnership between our two countries.

Our countries are working for peace, prosperity, democracy and security in the region and in Armenia. During this month, we also discussed the Armenian-American cooperation with the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora,” said the envoy in fluent Armenian.

He added that he will spend the holidays with his five children in anticipation of the first grandchild, who should be born in January.

“I wish you all the best. Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!” said Ambassador Heffern.
