Information was received, on Monday at 11:55pm, that a 4.3-magnitude earthquake had occurred, at 11:38pm local time, 13 kilometers northwest of Ahar city, in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The tremor measured magnitude 5-6 at the epicenter area, and its hypocenter was ten kilometers beneath the surface. 

The seismic activity was felt in Armenia, too, specifically, in Meghri city, where it measured magnitude 2-3.
