YEREVAN.- Restoration of railway communication from Georgia to Abkhazia is realistic,  presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan told voters in the town of Artik, Shirak Region.

“I see an opportunity for restoration of the railroad traffic. Newly appointed Georgian Premier, recently visiting Armenia, assured me that restoration of the Abkhazian section is beneficial to Georgia. Therefore, we must work together with Georgian, Abkhazian and Russian parties to settle the issue which is of paramount importance for us,” he said.

The initiative was put forward by a new Georgian cabinet, in particular Minister for Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili. During his trip to Armenia, Bidzina Ivanishvili said Georgia takes every effort to settle the issue.
