The Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, issued a congratulatory message to Patriarch Neophyte, the newly elected spiritual leader of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. 

“We hope that God will provide your patriarchal service with new accomplishments. We also pray that the Lord may fructify the efforts by you and your Church toward consolidating peace and solidarity, [and] strengthening dialogue and friendship between churches and different religions,” the Catholicos’ message reads in particular.     

Also, Karekin II reflected on the prosperous Armenian community of Bulgaria, as a testament of the ties and cooperation between the Armenian and the Bulgarian Churches.

In addition, the Armenian Catholicos expressed confidence that relations between the two churches will continue to flourish and become more productive during Patriarch Neophyte’s service as head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
