Armenia is preparing to open an embassy in The Holy See of The Vatican. President Serzh Sargsyan already signed a respective decree, and the matter of it being approved by the Government is included in the agenda of Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

To note, diplomatic ties between Armenia and The Holy See were established on May 23, 1992.

As per the Armenian MFA, deepening relations with the Holy See is important in terms of its spiritual and, also, political influence in the world.

It is noteworthy that The Holy See of The Vatican is a permanent observer at UN and the Council of Europe, and it is a member in the OSCE and in several other international organizations.
