CAIRO. – The Egyptian Embassy in Armenia was able to achieve the release of five Egyptians in Georgia, who were detained for attempting to leave the country illegally, the Egyptian FM’s Consular Affairs Assistant, Al Al-Asheri stated.    

The Egyptian Embassy in Armenia contacted the Georgian authorities immediately after the incident, to reach an agreement with the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, Egyptian MFA official website reports.   

To note, Egypt does not have a diplomatic representation in Georgia, and therefore the Egyptian Embassy in Armenia represents the interests of its citizens in Georgia.
