YEREVAN.- Russia’s military presence in Abkhazia and South Ossetia is a threat to Georgia, Defense Minister Irakli Alasania said in Yerevan.

“As to Russian military base deployed in Armenia, we are confident that Armenia will not allow using it to damage the interests of Georgia,” Irakli Alasania said during a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Seyran Ohanyan.

Speaking about Armenia-Georgia cooperation in the field of military education, Seyran Ohanyan said this area is one of priorities for cooperation.

“Armenian and Georgian servicemen participated in military exercise and trainings within NATO. Today we have agreed to continue cooperation,” he said.
