YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday met with Ambassador Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy at NATO, who arrived in Armenia to attend Tuesday’s presidential inauguration.  

The President spoke about Armenia-NATO cooperation and the respective programs, the Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Sargsyan also gave a high assessment to the aforesaid cooperation. In the President’s conviction, public diplomacy is an important component of Armenia’s relations with NATO. Sargsyan also underscored the high-level contacts and the political discourse between Armenia and NATO.  

In her turn, Ambassador Grabar-Kitarović conveyed to President Sargsyan NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s warm greetings and his well wishes in Sargsyan’s second term in office.     

Also, the NATO representative extended her thanks for Armenia’s engagement in the NATO-led peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan and in Kosovo and for the country’s contribution to the international security system, and stressed that NATO’s cooperation with Armenia along the lines of the NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) is developing with success.       

The President of Armenia and the Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy at NATO also reflected on regional matters.
