YEREVAN. – The whole body of Armenia’s press exists and what remains is the head; once that exists, too, we will get a complete look.   

Ruling Republican Party National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction leader, RPA Supreme Body member Galust Sahakyan noted the abovementioned during a press conference on Saturday, and he congratulated on World Press Freedom Day.

In Sahakyan’s words, the press should be turned into a “social phenomenon.” He noted that the consumers of the press are not many, and its main patrons should be the journalists and they should seek the truth. 

“Thereby consumption will rise, [and] the journalists will solve their social problems and be more independent,” the RPA NA Faction leader stated.

Sahakyan noted that perhaps he is the only politician in Armenia who does not retaliate to what is said and criticized because, as per the ruling party MP, these criticisms are not personal.              

“One should not be offended by the press, one should only respond [to it],” Galust Sahakyan added.
