Both for Azerbaijan and Armenia is very important to establish a cultural dialogue, said Russian president’s special envoy Mikhail Shvydkoy.

He supposes this will happen “after the elections in Azerbaijan” when the two presidents will start a dialogue during their new terms in office.

As for the organization of meetings between representatives of the Azerbaijani and Armenian intellectuals, Shvydkoy noted it is not necessary to wait until the election.

“The Azerbaijani and Armenian sides, as well as the international community, expect that certain steps will be taken. Nobody wants war. For us it is very important to develop humanitarian contacts,” APA agency quotes Shvydkoy.

He noted that Russia is interested in stability in the South Caucasus.

“Society should give a signal and we will talk to my colleagues in Azerbaijan and Armenia about  trying to take another step.”
