STEPANAKERT. – The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Ministry of Defense (NKR MOD) considered the Azerbaijani party’s statements about “mined rivers” to be absurd.

“Someone who is more or less familiar with the military would hardly believe in these absurd tales. This is an absolutely unfounded statement, [and] therefore I do not consider it appropriate to comment on them,” NKR MOD Press Secretary Senor Hasratyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

To note, the Azerbaijani media were claiming that the Armenians “are sending mines [to Azerbaijan] through rivers.” A tragic event had occurred recently in Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijanis had “attributed” a child’s bizarre death to a mined toy which the rivers had brought.
