YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan’s proposal to supply natural gas to Armenia is not serious.

Armenian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan noted the aforesaid during a briefing with news reporters on Thursday.

To note, President Rovnag Abdullayev of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) had stated that they will provide gas to Armenia if the latter petitioned to them with such request.

Following this statement, Novruz Mammadov, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Office of the President of Azerbaijan, had hinted that Azerbaijan would supply natural gas to Armenia if certain preconditions are met; that is to say, making concessions, on Armenia’s part, toward the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
