Iran exported more than 1.5 billion cubic meters to Armenia during 2007-2012 period, National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) reported.

Around 1.558 billion cubic meters of gas has been traded with Armenia's electricity in a 6-year period, FARS agency reported. Only last year Iran exported a total of 481 million cubic meters of gas to Armenia.

Last week Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Raiesi said his country is ready to assist Armenia on matters of gas supply as much as it can. The Iranian diplomat stressed it is for Armenian side to decide whether to use Iranian gas as an alternative to Russian.
