YEREVAN. – An international conference, titled “Participatory Democracy at Local Level,” will be held on Wednesday in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan.

The event will be held within the framework of Armenia’s newly-assumed chairmanship at the Committee of Minister of the Council of Europe (CoE).  

Armenia’s Deputy PM, Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan will deliver opening remarks at the conference, which will include separate discussions on several topics.  

Prior to this event, however, Yerevan will host, on Tuesday, the session of the Bureau of CoE Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. Also, Congress President Herwig van Staa and Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration, Vache Terteryan, will hold a news conference during the break of this session.

On Monday, Herwig van Staa paid a visit to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and the Armenian Genocide Memorial, where he paid tribute to the victims of the Genocide.
