YEREVAN. – Armenia will export new potato to Russia, said project manager of Spayka Company dealing with the exports of fruits and vegetables.

From the beginning of 2013, Armenia has already exported 3,000 tons of potatoes purchased from the local farmers at AMD 120-130 (around 30 cents) per kilo for new potatoes and AMD 60-80 (15-20 cents) for old potatoes.

“Armenia mainly exports apricots and grapes, but we are trying to export new products,” Samvel  Baghdasaryan said during the Wednesday press conference.

The company is preparing a new program of cooperation with the farmers of Shirak Region on growing potatoes, beet and carrot.
