YEREVAN. – The use of Information Technology (IT) in businesses has qualitatively and substantially changed in Armenia.

Armenian Union of Information Technology Enterprises Executive Director Karen Vardanyan stated the aforesaid at Friday’s official opening of the sixth annual DigiTec Business Forum that kicked off in capital city Yerevan.

In his words, six years ago 80 percent of Armenia’s IT products were exported and solely 20 percent was used in the domestic market; but, now, this ratio has become 60/40. As per Vardanyan, this means the businesses in Armenia now use technological tools more and with a greater scope.

He also informed that 62—43 local and 19 foreign—organizations will take part in DigiTec Business Forum, during which 48 business presentations and five plenary sessions will be held, too.
