Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin congratulated Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on his 59th birth anniversary. 

“The last meetings with the President of Armenia have contributed to the future development of bilateral political discourse, the constructive cooperation in the trade and economic and in other domains, the cooperative partnership within the international arena—specifically, in the margins of CIS [i.e., the Commonwealth of Independent States] and CSTO [i.e., the Collective Security Treaty Organization]—for the benefit of the peoples of both countries [and] the ensuring of security and stability in Transcaucasia,” reads the congratulatory message of the Russian President.
