Armenian woman, an owner of medical clinic, pleaded guilty to participating in a plot to fraudulently bill Medicare and Medicaid.
Anahit Hovhannisyan, 34, will face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, AP reported. Representatives of her company also pleaded guilty to participating in a plot. The verdict will be announced on September 26.
The prosecutors said the patients attended the clinic to pass medical tests which were not performed or were not necessary.
