YEREVAN. – A workshop and a staff training, toward the implementation of the national response plan in the case of an accident at Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, is held from Tuesday to Thursday in capital city Yerevan.

The event is organized by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations and the US Embassy in Armenia, and along the lines of the emergency planning program.    

The practical phase of the Atom 2013 staff training will be conducted on Wednesday, and Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan and US Ambassador John Heffern will be on hand. 

The main objectives of the event are to improve the skills of disaster response forces and to enhance cooperation between local and international organizations.

The subject matter of the aforesaid training is the organization of people’s protection in the case of an accident at the nuclear plant.
