A section of Saint Giragos Armenian Church in Turkey’s Diyarbakir will be turned into a museum, where items belonging to Armenians will be displayed.
Diyarbakir Mayor Osman Baydemir and Church Foundation Chairman Vartkes Ergun Ayik signed a memorandum whereby a part of the church will become a museum, Radikal daily of Turkey reports.
Also, Baydemir noted that he believes that this museum will contribute to the image of Diyarbakir.
It is noted that Diyarbakir Municipality will turn a section of the church into a museum, obtain items that belonged to Armenians, and take care of and protect this area by its own means.
