YEREVAN. – Armenia will adopt a law on enriching wheat four, the government said. The relevant provision was included in the government’s program during the Thursday meeting.

The adoption of this law is explained by growing number of deceases and health problems caused by lack of microelements and vitamins. The measure is taken in order to prevent and reduce the number of cases.

Vitamin and nutrient deficiency is one of the most serious health problems all over the globe. Around two billion people globally do not receive sufficient amount of iron every day which leads to iron-deficiency anemia.

Fortification of wheat flour is a public health measure, which aims to prevent microelement or vitamin deficiency and improve public health.
