Moldovan parliamentary advocate Aurelia Grigoriu is accusing her country’s authorities of attempting to put psychological pressure, debasing, and offending her.

These accusations are linked to the Moldovan authorities’ plan to conduct a mandatory disinfection in Grigoriu’s apartment, Kommersant.md reports.

During a press conference, the Moldovan parliamentary advocate expressed a conviction that aforesaid plan is connected to the statements she recently made in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.

The Moldovan capital city Chişinău authorities, however, assure that these two events have nothing to do with each other.

To note, Grigoriu’s mandate as Moldovan parliamentary advocate will expire on October 30, and she expressed a concern about her future. She is also confident that the local authorities are attempting to carry out a smear campaign against her, so that she would not be able to submit documents to extend her term in office as parliamentary advocate.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, during a recent international forum that was held in Yerevan, Grigoriu had said: “Armenia has occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territories committing genocide against Azerbaijanis.” This statement caused a negative reaction in Armenia and in Moldova, alike. The statement was condemned and it was considered a provocation aimed at exacerbating the situation. In addition, the Armenian community of Moldova informed about its intention to formally demand from the Moldovan parliament the removal of Aurelia Grigoriu from office.
