An earthquake occurred at the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. 

The tremor was recorded on Friday at 5։07am, 140 kilometers southeast of Qala city, APA news agency of Azerbaijan reports citing the seismic service.   

The quake measured magnitude 3.1 and its hypocenter was 47 kilometers below the sea.

The earthquake was not major.
