Iranian FM Ali Akbar Salehi invited UN-Arab League Joint Special Envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi to Tehran to discuss Syrian crisis.

During a phone conversation, Brahimi emphasized Iran’s constructive role in settling the Syrian crisis, FARS agency reported.

The sides noted necessity of supporting a political solution to the Syrian crisis as the only way to settle the prolonged unrests in Syria.

Brahimi praised Iranian side’s active participation in different conferences on Syria.
