The construction workers of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway have declared a strike in Marneuli, Georgia.

The construction workers at the Tetritskaro section of the railway demand the payment of their salaries, which have not been paid for five months, reports Gruzia Online news agency of Georgia.       

To note, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project has a political objective. It is not profitable for Iran yet indispensable for Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. Armenia, on the other hand, considers this project to be a political pressure against itself, with the objective being the transport isolation of the country.
