YEREVAN. – On Sunday, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Exaltation of the Cross, the last of the five holy days of the Church.

And the following Monday is the day of Remembrance of the Dead and a no-work day in Armenia.

Requiem masses are served Monday in all Armenian Apostolic Churches, and the faithful pray so that the souls of the deceased may rest in peace and, subsequently, people visit the graves of their loved ones.

To note, the dead are remembered on the next day after the five holy days of the Armenian Apostolic Church. And, with the Armenian Government’s decision, the remembrance days of the deceased are declared no-work days in the country.

The five main holy days of the Armenian Apostolic Church are the Holy Christmas and Baptism of Christ, Holy Easter, Transfiguration of Jesus, the Assumption Holiday, and the Exaltation of the Cross.
