STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan received primate of the Venezuelan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Komitas Ohanian.

They discussed issues related to relations between the state and the church, socioeconomic situation in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and regional developments.

President Sahakyan underlined the important role the Armenian Apostolic Church plays in preserving the Armenian national identity in the Diaspora, noting that the church has had a great contribution to supporting Artsakh.

The sides emphasized the need of continuously deepening state-church relations, considering it an important basis of the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity.

Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan was present at the meeting.
