YEREVAN. – The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muižnieks plans to continue the work of his predecessor in several directions, he told reporters in Yerevan.

Refusing to comment on the March 1 events explaining that a detailed visit to Armenia is ahead, CoE Commissioner shared the opinion that impunity is a big problem.

“If there are guilty they must be punished,” he said, adding this refers to all states.

“As far as I remember, the problem is not solved, and the investigation continues.”

Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan noted that the March 1 events are the focus of Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights and the Armenian human rights defender.
