YEREVAN. – The sanctions of Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition can be called “odd”, representative of ArmenTel company said.

“We were surprised that our representatives have not been invited to today’s session. So, we could not participate, and learnt about it from media on Thursday evening,” Anush Begloyan told reporters.

She noted that the company is waiting for an official text of the decision that must be sent according to the lawand then will voice the final position.

“At first glance the decision is very strange,” she emphasized.

On Friday the Armenian State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition fined ArmenTel for 20 million drams for alleged unfair competition in relation to other telecommunications company “Orange Armenia” and for copying its tariff packages.

The ArmenTel representative assured that company’s ads in media is not directed against the rival company.

“I would not like to comment on the competitor’s statement. We are waiting for a final text of the decision that will contain proofs,” Anush Begloyan said.
