YEREVAN. – Experience shows that the POWs are either sent back or sent to the third state, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters on Monday.

“Azerbaijan is doing everything to send him [Hakob Injighulyan] to the third state. Our view has always been that we will try to return him and without any criminal prosecution. Unfortunately, the lack of communication prevents us from exerting all efforts, but indirectly, through cooperation with international organizations, we will return him,” Ohanyan said.

Armenian soldier Hakob Injighulyan (born in 1991) found himself in the territory under the control of the adversary. According to preliminary information, Injighulyan turned up there on August 8 at around 3am, while carrying out his military service, by crossing the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic-Azerbaijan border, and as a result of losing his orientation in the area.
