YEREVAN. – The Armenian media feedback, in connection with Armenia’s foreign policy, causes to smile.

Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan noted the abovementioned during a briefing with news reporters on Wednesday.

“The media are attempting to make us ‘fight’ with the CIS countries. Over the course of the three-four years when Armenia was holding negotiations over the [EU] Association Agreement, materials criticizing Armenia were published in influential European periodicals. But this did not become a subject to speculation for certain media and political circles,” Ashotyan said.

In his view, the anti-Armenian report, which was presented recently on a Russian television, is speculated on, albeit he, too, is angry by the expressions that were used in this report.

“Had the Russian Federation authorities tried to understand the Armenian authorities’ attitude by way of the publications by the Armenian press, there would have been a rather unpleasant aftertaste,” the minister noted.

According to Armen Ashotyan, some media in Armenia attempt to create anti-Russian sentiments, and some Russian media try to cause tension in Armenian-Russian relations.
