YEREVAN. - The head of the United National Initiative Shant Haroutsunyan took off his body armor vest, put it on his son and said that he is going to die, while his son should continue his mission, Armenian News-NEWS.am reports.

Shant Haroutsunyan has been holding the protest action in the Liberty Square in Yerevan downtown for several days, after which he declared a revolution and with about a hundred supporters in masks initiated an “Anonymous rally” to the Armenia’s presidential residence.

The police stopped the rally before it reached the residence, however, clashed with explosions occurred during police operation. According to the activists, the clashes were started by the provocateurs. The police informed that during the clashes a law enforcement agent has been stabbed with a knife. At the moment the police closed part of the street and started investigation.

Shant Haroutsunyan, his son Shahen and 35 other rally participants were arrested and detained; over a dozen of citizens, including law enforcement agents, were hospitalized.
