YEREVAN. – The EU-Armenia agreement on readmission does not mean the Armenian citizens’ massive inflow to Armenia from Europe.

Artak Zakaryan, Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, told the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am

Zakaryan recalled that although Armenia already has readmission agreements with thirteen countries, there has never been a massive inflow of Armenian citizens—who are illegally living abroad—to Armenia.

“The objective of this readmission agreement is something else. This is a mechanism for returning to the [Armenian] republic for all persons who still stay in the EU once their visa has expired. This is an appendix to the Armenia-EU visa facilitation agreement,” Zakaryan explained.
