The recent decision of the Ukrainian authorities not to sign an Association Agreement with the European Union will not affect Georgia, Foreign Minister Maia Panjinikidze announced this during the press conference on Sunday.

“It is very sad that the Ukrainian authorities have decided to stop rapprochement with the European Union. But Georgia has identified the way of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and there will be definitely no change on this way," Panjikidze said on November 24.

Georgia will initial the Association Agreement with the European Union at the upcoming Vilnius summit on November 28-29. The Georgian Delegation will be headed by the newly elected President of Georgia George Margvelashvili, NewsGeorgia reports.

According to the President, “Georgia will leave for the Vilnius summit with very good results”, while the recent presidential election can be viewed as a good prerequisite for Georgia to become “an integral part of Europe” at the Summit.
