YEREVAN. – Quite a lot of NATO events are held in Armenia, and this stresses the importance of bilateral relations.

British Ambassador to Armenia, Jonathan Aves, noted the aforesaid Tuesday at a conference devoted to Armenia-NATO relations.

In his words, the UK government plays a role in Armenia in the development of Armenia-NATO relations.

“We are NATO’s very humble embassy in Armenia. But there is still much to be done. Many still do not clearly understand the contribution that Armenia may have.

“I think that many are of the view that there may be contradictions in Armenia-NATO cooperation, since Armenia has close relations with Russia,” Ambassador Aves stated, in particular.

But he stressed that Armenia has shown that there is no contradiction and that official Yerevan can develop relations with both parties.
