GYUMRI. – The Holy Savior Church of Armenia’s Gyumri city is surrounded by police forces. 

To note, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, who arrived in Armenia Monday on a state visit, will pay a visit to the 1988 Armenian earthquake memorial, which is located at the churchyard. 

After inspecting with metal detectors, the police allow entry to the area solely those persons whose names are on the respective lists, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informs from Gyumri. 

For the most part, these persons are the employees of the institutions that are under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Gyumri, and these persons are arriving with the national flags of Armenia  and Russia in their hands.   

In addition, the fountains at Gyumri’s central square are turned on.
