YEREVAN. – I wish that there was never more bloodshed in Nagorno Karabakh, and neither Armenians nor Azerbaijanis never to shed blood, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference in Yerevan following his meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday, Armenian News-NEWS.am reports.

In response to a question about Russia’s hypothetical reaction in case of a possible aggression by Azerbaijan, Putin noted that “the more you pronounce these words aloud, the more you decrease conditions for a peaceful settlement in the region.”

“We would like that never in this region of the world, located so close to the Russian borders and having such close ties with the Russian Federation, that never bloodshed occur, neither for Armenian citizens, nor for the Republic of Azerbaijan,” President Putin said.
