YEREVAN. – Armenian consumers would have paid around $500 for gas unless the country joined Customs Union, Energy Minister Armen Movsisyan said.

“The price would make $270 per thousand cubic meters on the border and around $500 for the consumers,” Movsisyan added.

Although ArmRusgasprom is getting gas for $180 on the border, the consumers in fact are receiving gas by double margin - $386 per thousand cubic meters.

Asked about the grounds for double margin, Minister Movsisyan referred to expenses on decompression for ultimate consumers. The Minister gave no response to the request to remember example of double margin in other states that bear the same expenses.
