YEREVAN. – Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan sees positive movement both on Armenia-Russian relations, and on the issue of the Customs Union.

“As regards Customs Union, I will comment on it carefully in the future, as I do not consider it appropriate to talk about all the advantages and opportunities before the talks are completed,” he said during the visit to the Ministry of Nature Protection.

He reiterated that there are no negotiations in the world that can be discussed with all sectors of society.

“In specific cases, we submit the results of our discussions to the National Assembly, and these treaties must be ratified and approved by parliament. And, thanks God, today the National Assembly very well represents the interests of our society and its different parts,” he added.

President commented on the recent visit of Russian president, noting that “ the visit confirmed the nature of our strategic relationship.”

“The visit and the agreements do create great opportunities for economy and the possibility of much closer cooperation in the security sphere. In the economic sphere they refer to the energy sector, industry, jewelry, diamond cutting, chemical industry and so on. There are so many arrangements, and the opportunities are growing. Great opportunities open in agriculture sector. Only in 2013, we increased our exports to Russia by 25 percent. But one thing is clear: Russians will not come to work instead of us. We should be able to realize these opportunities, we must be able to work even more organized to achieve results. If we fail, we can be supported, but no one will work instead of us. We must clearly understand that,” President concluded.
