Armenia’s joining Customs Union will be a blow to the Georgian business of secondhand cars, director of Georgian company said.

Irakly Kukhianidze noted that the half of all vehicles imported by his company from U.S., Europe and Japan is brought for re-export to Armenia, Business Georgia reported.

He said accession to Customs Union will lead to increase in customs duties for Armenia. The increase in customs clearance will negatively impact the sales. Kukhianidze recalled that Kazakhstan’s accession to Customs Union was a huge blow to his company.
