YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received world-renowned violinist, violist, and conductor Pinchas Zukerman.

Zukerman arrived in capital city Yerevan on Wednesday, and he will participate in the closing concert of the 14th “Yerevan Perspectives” International Music Festival.    

In Yerevan, the musician will perform, as conductor and soloist, with the Camerata Salzburg chamber orchestra (Austria).  

The guest thanked the Armenian PM and the Ministry of Culture for the state assistance in the organizing of the concert. 

Composer Stepan Rostomyan, who is Festival President and Artistic Director, informed that they discussed with Zukerman the organizing of a joint gala concert devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.     

Pinchas Zukerman first visited Armenia in 2009, together with the Zukerman Chamber Players ensemble. In 2010, he accepted the invitation to perform as a soloist with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra.

To note, the first music teacher of Pinchas Zukerman was Armenian musician Ivan Galamian.
