YEREVAN. – The prices of goods in capital city Yerevan shall not rise in the lead-up to the New Year holidays. 

Artak Shaboyan, Chairman of the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (ASCPEC), told the aforementioned to reporters on Thursday.

In Shaboyan’s words, the ASCPEC will tighten control at high concentration markets.

As per the ASCPEC chief, not solely unjustified price hikes, but false and misleading advertising campaigns likewise will be prevented in retail sales.

“The companies will be penalized if the announcements on offers and discounts do not conform to reality,” Artak Shaboyan stressed.
