YEREVAN. – Russia’s gas interests contradict Armenian ones, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan said during the Friday hearings.

He said thaw in Iran-US relations opens up good perspective for transit of Iranian gas via Armenia and Georgia to Europe. Transit earnings can fully or almost fully cover Armenia’s demand, Pashinyan added.

“This route that can be interesting for Europe meets resistance of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Russia, as it is not in line with their interests,” Pashinyan emphasized.

With the support of Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian side is doing everything for Russia to be able to exclude this scenario and close the Iranian pipeline.
