Egemen Bagis, who is Minister for European Union (EU) Affairs and Chief Negotiator of Turkey in accession talks with the EU, found himself in a difficult situation at the Turkish parliament and, consequently, he had to leave the parliamentary sessions’ hall.

Bagis, who, as a result of large-scale corruption scandal in Turkey, became known as a minister that takes bribes, was greeted at the parliament with whistling and insults by opposition MPs, Milliyet daily of Turkey writes.

Therefore the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) MPs advised the minister to leave the sessions’ hall, and he did just that.

Along the lines of the aforesaid corruption scandal, Egemen Bagis—who stands out for his aggressive demeanor and imbalanced statements toward the Armenians—is accused of taking a huge bribe from Azerbaijani businessman Reza Zarrab and, in return, helping some individuals in being issued visas and residency permits to Italy, and conducting several other illegal dealings.
