YEREVAN. – The parliamentary opposition has no reasons for petitioning to the Constitutional Court, head of standing committee on state and legal affairs, RPA member Davit Harutyunyan told reporters.

He mentioned that not a single constitutional norm was violated during the recent vote on gas agreement signed between Armenia and Russia.

Unlike the laws, the validity of international treaties can be appealed in the Constitutional Court only if constitutional demands were violated.

“The matter is violation of National Assembly regulations. I advise that the second part of 61st article of the law on Constitutional Court must be studied before petition is filed,” Harutyunyan.

Earlier four non-coalition parliamentary factions of the Armenian parliament issued a statement on voting on gas agreement signed with Russia.
