Geographic priorities of Switzerland’s OSCE presidency are Western Balkans and South Caucasus.

The Swiss presidency will focus on preventing conflicts and mediating lasting solutions, the OSCE tweeted.

Earlier Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter said his country, as a chairman of OSCE, will seek possibilities to promote dialogue and confidence building measures between the parties of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by actively supporting and strengthening existing mediation schemes such as the OSCE Minsk process.

Switzerland assumed chairmanship of the OSCE on January 1.
