YEREVAN. – Diaspora Minister of Armenia, Hranush Hakobyan, on Friday met with French Senate member Jean-Yves Leconte. 

They discussed Armenian-Turkish relations, the preparations for the events devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and the process of the French governments recognition of the Genocide, the Diaspora Ministry press service informs.     

Hakobyan highly appreciated the French Senate’s role in the development of Armenian-French relations, and the active political role of the French-Armenian community. 

In turn, Senator Leconte expressed the hope that the next two years will be years of “opportunity” for Armenian-Turkish relations.
