YEREVAN. – Real estate has not yet been registered at the district that will be built, in Armenia’s Ashtarak city, for Syrian Armenians.

Ashot Musayan, Vice-Chairman of the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre, on Friday told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am

As per Musayan, no real estate has been registered at the district, which is called New Aleppo.

In July 2013, the Ashtarak Council of Elders had decided to allot 4.8 hectares of land to the “Coordination Center for the Issues of Syrian Armenians” NGO.

Five to ten four-story buildings and about a hundred cottages are planned to be constructed at the district.

The NGO has already registered about three-hundred Syrian-Armenian families who want to acquire apartments at New Aleppo.

Diaspora Minister of Armenia, Hranush Hakobyan, had stated back in July of last year that investors are needed for the construction of the district.
