YEREVAN. – The Armenian MOD Investigation Service has launched a criminal case into the death of Conscript Edik Shahnazaryan.

The criminal case is opened on the grounds of an official’s negligence toward service and causing grave consequences.     

An autopsy will be conducted to reveal the cause of Shahnazaryan’s death.

The criminal investigation is in progress.

Conscript Edik Shahnazaryan, who was serving at an MOD military unit, died Monday at around 8am, at Vagharshapat city hospital. The details of the incident are being ascertained.
